Third Fire decoration

Definition

With the word “Third fire” we mean the baking of a ceramic or china object which has been dacorated after the second baking, the first with biscuit baking and the second after the glazing.

The working process

China needs a steady and precise exact hand which is essential to reach very accurate result. You can use different techniques in order to decorate the work of art such as paint brushes, sponges, steel nibs in this way you can have personalized motifs. I use almost exclusively steel nibs to decorate landscapes, Venetian Villas and so on. Once you have obtained the outcome you wanted, the object is put back into the oven at a temperature of 720-750 centigrades according to the colour you want and, according to the different requirements you can make more bakings.
